trendvein ("we," "us," or "our") is a research and analytics tool that helps creators, researchers, and media professionals discover and analyze publicly available YouTube Shorts channel data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Use of YouTube API Services
trendvein uses the YouTube Data API v3 to retrieve publicly available channel and video information. Our use of the YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
By using trendvein, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

3. Information We Access and Collect
3a. YouTube API Data (Public Data Only)
Through the YouTube Data API v3, trendvein accesses and stores the following publicly available information:
- YouTube channel names, channel IDs, and public subscriber counts
- Channel avatar image URLs
- Video titles, video IDs, thumbnail URLs, and view counts
- Video publish dates and durations (to identify Shorts under 60 seconds)
- Video like counts (where publicly available)
3b. What We Do NOT Collect
trendvein does not:
- Collect any personally identifiable information (PII) about YouTube users, viewers, or commenters
- Access private YouTube data, watch history, playlists, or any information that requires user OAuth authentication
- Request, collect, or store YouTube login credentials of any user
- Access authorized/private user data (we only use API key-based access for public data)
- Track, profile, or identify individual YouTube viewers
3c. User-Provided Information
If you contact us for support, we may collect your name and email address solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This data is not linked to any YouTube API Data.
4. How We Use the Information
All YouTube API Data collected by trendvein is used solely for the following purposes:
- Displaying channel and video performance metrics within the trendvein dashboard
- Computing aggregated statistics such as average views, upload frequency, consistency scores, and growth trends
- Enabling users to search, filter, sort, and bookmark channels for research purposes
- Providing historical performance tracking (e.g., 90-day view trends)
We do not use YouTube API Data for advertising, retargeting, profiling, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to the core research functionality of trendvein.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
trendvein does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share YouTube API Data or any user information with any third party.
Specifically:
- We do not share data with advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers
- We do not allow third parties to serve content or advertisements through trendvein
- We do not transfer user data to any third party except as required by law
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
6. Data Storage and Retention
YouTube API Data is stored in a private, secured database. Data retention practices are as follows:
- Channel data is retained and periodically refreshed via the YouTube API to maintain accuracy
- Video performance data is primarily used within a 90-day analysis window; older data is refreshed or removed during routine maintenance
- Statistical history (subscriber count snapshots, view count snapshots) is retained to support trend analysis and is periodically pruned
We do not store YouTube API Data indefinitely. Data that is no longer necessary for the service's functionality is deleted during regular maintenance cycles.
7. Data Deletion and Your Rights
You have the right to request the deletion of any data stored by trendvein. To request data deletion, please contact us at support@trendvein.com.
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete the specified data within 30 calendar days.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the data we process and store from unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Access-controlled, private database infrastructure
- Secure storage of API credentials (never exposed in client-side code or open-source repositories)
- Password-protected access to the trendvein dashboard
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
trendvein uses strictly necessary, first-party cookies to keep users signed in and to protect the Google sign-in flow from forged requests. These cookies are not used for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking.
The main session cookie expires after 7 days. Temporary Google sign-in safety cookies expire after about 10 minutes. These cookies are set with security protections such as HttpOnly, Secure in production, and SameSite controls.
We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts, and we do not allow third parties to store, access, or collect information directly or indirectly on or from users' devices for advertising or tracking.
10. Third-Party Services
trendvein does not allow third parties to serve content, including advertisements, within the application. We use the YouTube Data API v3 to retrieve public channel and video data, and we use Resend to send transactional account emails such as email verification messages.
11. Children's Privacy
trendvein is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify users through the application before the changes take effect. Continued use of trendvein after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
